It can be tough keeping a brand new white shirt’s vibrancy and stainlessness after a couple of weeks of wear. However, these tips may help you have more success in making sure your white clothes stay that way.
- Make sure your white fabrics and darker fabrics are separated before
going into the wash. If these are placed into a washer together, it could very likely result in color transfer or bleeding dye, coloring your white fabric, or simply causing it to look unclean.
- Wash your white clothes in hot water, and make sure to use plenty of soap or detergent to wash away all the dirt. You may also want to add a whitener into the wash, such as lemon juice, vinegar, or hydrogen peroxide.
- When it comes to fabric that has been yellowed with time, rinse in a little vinegar and water, and hang it someplace bright and warm to dry.
- Pre-treat the stains on your clothes with normal soap or laundry detergent. Scrub the stain away thoroughly, before soaking in hot water.
- Make sure that the clothes have been completely rinsed, in a clean washing machine, so that dirt in the machine is not being transferred onto the fabric. If nothing else works, add some bleach to your load, in an appropriate amount.
